As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Food and Wellness Group and The Colors of Health, John has over 40 years of experience in the food industry in both the corporate and commodity sectors. He has a depth of front line and executive experience in general management, operations and marketing including advertising and promotion, research, strategic planning, new product development, and program implementation.

Prior to the Food and Wellness Group, John served as Managing Director of Food and Nutrition for the Swardlick Marketing Group. From 1993 to 2004, John was the Executive Director of the Wild Blueberry Association of North America (WBANA). During his tenure, the breakthrough health defining arenas of colorful phytochemicals and antioxidants (ORAC) were recognized for blueberries and first introduced to the marketplace (1997) by WBANA leading to industry changing health-driven awareness and demand for blueberries. The unique WBANA Bar Harbor Research Group was conceived and created in 1998 (recent 15 year anniversary) comprised of dedicated and collaborative researchers from the US and Canada focused on the emerging world of phytochemicals and their potential health benefits…particularly in berries.

He also served as a principal with The Hale Group, a management-consulting firm in Boston that provided strategic counsel to the foodservice and restaurant industries.

John also held executive positions in operations and marketing during his 23 years with Friendly Ice Cream Corporation; a major New England based restaurant and ice cream retailer.
