Dr. G.K. Jayaprakasha is working as Research Professor with 25 years of research on natural products and 3 years of industrial experience. His research involves bioassay directed discovery, purification and chemical characterization of natural compounds from Citrus, Grapes, Pomegranates, Peppers, Melons, Cinnamon, Turmeric, Dellinia india, Garcinia and Custard apples using preliminary in vitro assays such as anticancer, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Isolated and characterized >80 novel, rare and bioactive compounds from Citrus, Pomegranate, Carrots, Custard apples, Peppers, Cinnamon, Lichen, Turmeric and Garcinia. He filed 24 patents in US, Europe and India, mainly on process development for the isolation of health promoting compounds from agro-food industrial byproducts. In addition, he developed several analytical methods for the quantification of bioactives using TLC, GC, GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS and NMR. Dr. Jayaprakasha published more than 175 Research papers, Reviews, books and book chapters as well as >160 presentations in national and international meetings. He is a elected Fellow of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, American Chemical Society; Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) from the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, and Fellow of Indian Chemists (FIC) from Institution of Chemists (India).
